Hodges Square group forms, elects officers

New London — The group working on how to create a village environment in Hodges Square has established a governance committee and elected two people to head the efforts.

Forrest Sklar, owner of Copy Cats Inc., and Cathi Strother, a resident of northeast New London, will serve as co-chairmen of the Creative Placemaking Program committee.

Also on the committee will be Bill Dougherty, Robert Lee, Priscilla Peabody and Mahmut Tandugan.

The Creative Placemaking project for Hodges Square is being led by New London Landmarks, with the City of New London, a coalition of the Neighborhood Alliance, Riverside Park Conservancy, and the public.

It is funded with a grant from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development and the Office of the Arts.
