Salem budget goes to referendum

Salem — A town budget of $14,781,081 will go to referendum on May 8.
At the town meeting Wednesday night, Salem residents voted to send the budget to referendum with no changes. There was minimal discussion, though a few people asked for clarification of line items.
The general government budget is $3,513,725. The Board of Education budget is $10,351,968, and the capital expenditures budget is $915,388.
The referendum will be held at Town Hall, 270 Hartford Road.
