Waterford Democratic committee seeks candidates for town offices

Waterford — The Democratic Town Committee is looking for qualified candidates to run in the November election.

There are three positions open on the Board of Finance, four seats on the Board of Education, five seats on the Zoning Board of Appeals, two seats on the Board of Assessment Appeals and 16 seats on the Representative Town Meeting.

Candidates must be named by July 23 for the Nov. 5 election.

Registered Democrats or Democratic-leaning Independents are eligible to be nominated by the Waterford Democrats at their caucus in July.

This is the first town-wide election that will not feature any members of the Board of Selectmen or a town-wide elected official, as those terms of office were changed to four years at the last charter revision.
