Backus program for coaches, parents to focus on concussions

Norwich - The William W. Backus Hospital will host a “Concussion Discussion” for coaches and parents from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Backus Business and Technology Center, 11 Stott Ave.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Anthony Alessi, a neurologist who will present a forum for coaches, parents and medical personnel about the signs and risks of concussions. Alessi is a neurologist and medical director of the Backus Stroke Center, and a sports neurology consultant.

Admission is free. To register, call (860) 889-8331, extension 6381. Light refreshments will be provided.
