UPDATED: Teen injured in Napatree Point swimming accident

Stonington — Police, firefighters and Stonington ambulance responded to the Stonington Harbor Yacht Club this afternoon to assist a boat which brought an injured teenage male to shore after a swimming accident.
Police said the New Jersey youth who was visiting the area, was injured off Napatree Point. The boat he was on then brought him into Stonington Harbor where borough firefighters helped load him onto a backboard and into a waiting ambulance. He was then taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital. Police said he was conscious and alert. The incident occurred about 4:20 p.m.
