East end of Rocky Neck beach closed

East Lyme – The east end of the beach at Rocky Neck State Park is closed for swimming due to poor water quality, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced today.

The same area was closed last Tuesday due to poor water quality.

DEEP, which tests the water quality at state park beaches, will resample the water at Rocky Neck on Wednesday, with results expected on Thursday, according to a news release.

The swimming area on the western side of Rocky Neck remains open, and all other state parks are open, DEEP stated.
