The mural, painted by environmental artist Wyland in 1993 was on the verge of being whitewashed-over in 2006 when the committee was formed to save it. Bishop touches-up areas where the paint has flaked-off each year. He says it's getting close to time to do a total restoration of the mural as he can see countless cracks in the paint where water is getting under the surface.
