Million dollar Powerball ticket sold locally
A store in New London County sold a $1 million Powerball ticket, according to the Connecticut Lottery.
Lottery spokeswoman Linda Tarnowski said in a phone interview that the unknown winner has 180 days from the Aug. 7 drawing date to claim the prize.
Tarnowski said her agency does not release the names of stores where winning tickets are sold until a winner comes forward. The winning ticket matched the first five numbers of the game, but not the final Powerball number.
The winning numbers were 5 - 25 - 30 - 58 – 59, with the Powerball number of 32.
The next Powerball drawing Saturday is expected to be worth $40 million to anyone who matches all six numbers.
More than 66,000 winning Powerball tickets were sold in Connecticut during the latest drawing. Prizes ranged from $4 to $1 million.
