    Norwich police arrest jeweler

Norwich – Police today arrested a 57-year-old precious metals and gold seller after investigating complaints that the store, Top Jewelry at 223 Main St., was accepting stolen merchandise.

Sun Lee, of 86 Otrobando Ave., Unit 27, was charged with violation of precious metals regulations. Police said her arrest came after they executed a search-and-seizure warrant following an investigation and used surveillance and undercover techniques to gather evidence.

Police said several items of evidence were recovered during a search of the business.

Lee was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 22.

Further arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues, police said. Top Jewelry’s license to operate has been revoked. Monday afternoon, several large signs were displayed in the front of the store stating, “We Buy Gold,” “We Pay Highest Prices,” and “We Buy Gold and Diamonds.”
