    Two charged in Groton bar fight

    Groton — Town Police arrested two men early Saturday after a fight inside a bar during which they threatened an employee with a knife, police said.

    The employee was not injured and required no medical attention, Lt. John Varone said. He did not identify the bar where the fight occurred at about 3:30 a.m.

    Jason A. Roberts, 33, of 58 Moss St., Pawcatuck, was charged with breach of peace, carrying and sale of dangerous weapons, second-degree threatening, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment. He appeared in court Monday morning.

    Stephen J. Debigare, 27, of 48 North Road, Shannock, R.I., was charged with breach of peace, interfering with a police officer, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment. He is due to appear in court Aug. 23.
