    Prudence Crandall Museum in Canterbury celebrates its past

Johnson had just finished giving a performance of "The Life and Times of William Webb," a Civil War soldier during the event. Coombs had a relative that served in the 25th Connecticut Infantry during the Civil War.

    The Prudence Crandall Museum in Canterbury hosted the 27th annual Prudence Crandall Day celebration Saturday, honoring the woman whose 19th century school included the nation's first integrated classroom.
