Festival Draws Thousands to Hammonasset

Mohegan Tribe member Muks Nagwagut (wolf that wanders, aka Alan Saunders) leads a smudging circle at the Friends of Hammonasset's fifth Hammonassett Festival at the state park last weekend. Several thousand visitors came to the two-day event, which featured Native American music, dancing, food, and cultural displays as well as wildlife exhibitions and the 26th annual meeting of the World Atlatl Association.
