Lyme — In a day of slow but steady turnout, voters officially supported an entirely uncontested and mostly incumbent slate of candidates on Election Day.

First Selectman Ralph F. Eno Jr. will lead the town with selectmen Parker Lord and Steven Mattson for another term.

Eno, a Republican first selectman since 2007 as well as between 1991 and 2001, garnered 242 votes. Lord, a Republican selectman since 1997, got 166 votes and Mattson, a Democrat who has served four terms, received 115 votes

The selectmen will oversee the completion of the Town Hall and Library renovation project, prepare the town for the long-term transition from a landfill to a transfer station and continue their commitment to a low tax rate, they have said.

Town Clerk Linda Winzer was the top vote-getter with 270 votes.

While no political signs were visible near the Fire House on Hamburg Road, voters trickled in to cast their ballots. About 7.6 percent of the town’s 1,780 registered voters turned out.

“I think it’s important to exercise our right to vote,” said resident Lindsay Eisensmith, who brought her 18-month-old daughter, Daphne. “I always do, and I hope she will too.”
