Mystic — Old Mystic firefighters extinguished a fire in a unit at the Econolodge hotel just past 2 a.m. this morning.

An employee at the Route 27 hotel this afternoon said damage was confined to the unit above the lobby and there were no injuries in the 2:13 a.m. fire. The hotel was open for business this afternoon. Old Mystic fire officials were not available for comment.
