Two more storms on the way

Don’t put those shovels away. Another winter storm is coming Saturday.

Gary Lessor, a meteorologist with the Western Connecticut State University Weather Center, said we can see more snow starting at 7 a.m. that will continue until the afternoon. He said the storm system could bring 1 to 3 inches of snow and even more in some isolated areas.

Thursday’s storm brought 6.5 inches of snow in Colchester, 6 inches in Norwich, 5.2 inches in Stonington and 4.5 inches in Groton. An overnight dusting of snow brought and additional inch or two of snow.

He said Saturday’s snow will be heavy and wet because of the warmer temperatures, making it difficult to shovel.

Lessor said another storm is expected Monday night into Tuesday, which could bring another 3 inches of snow.

After Tuesday, temperatures will begin to warm up into the 40s.
