Shipwright Walt Ansel "sister frames" one of the Mystic Seaport's Beetle whaleboats in the shop at the Seaport's H.B. duPont Preservation Shipyard on Monday. The whaleboat, one Ansel built in 2002 with his father Willits, is in need of repair to handle the duties as the only whaleboat that will remain on the Seaport's waterfront this summer. The remaining whaleboats will go to sea with the whaleship Charles W. Morgan. The Morgan, the last remaining wooden whaling ship and the oldest American commercial vessel in existence, as well as a National Historic Landmark, was re-launched in July 2013 and will embark on its 38th voyage, a tour of historic New England ports, this summer.
