    Waterford HS makes it to quarter finals of science bowl

    On Feb. 6, 16 teams from Connecticut and Rhode Island competed in the 19th Quahog Bowl at the University of Connecticut, Avery Point in Groton. The bowl is one of 25 state or regional competitions of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl.

    Waterford defeated Glastonbury High School and the New London Science and Technology High School during the elimination rounds, to compete in the quarter final round against E.O. Smith High School from Storrs. E.O. Smith prevailed and went on to win the competition, led by former Waterford student Robert Kao.

    Waterford High School has competed for 17 of the 19 years and has come in second place nine times and third place four times.
