    Gone fishing in Ledyard

    Ledyard — Mckyia Garner, 13, of Ledyard decides its time to move after catching a pond weed Saturday while fishing at Long Pond.

    Earlier in the day, Garner caught a 20.5-inch brown trout, weighing about 4 pounds, during opening day for the 2018 fishing season. Garner was fishing with member of his family, who said the water temperature was only 49 degrees.
