I had an appointment that turned into a broken appointment in Middletown last week. Because I live almost an hour away from the hospital, I was a bit disappointed that it would be a two-hour drive that I would have to repeat next week. What might make me happy, at that point, would be a late breakfast at the Coffee Break.

There are lots of good reasons to stop at this local hangout, not the least of which would be the breakfast and lunch specials and the very reasonable prices. And because I had my Kindle with me, I took my time with wheat toast, eggs, a few pieces of bacon and two cups of coffee. It was quiet, too late for breakfast and too early for lunch, so it took just a couple of minutes for the short-order cook (who also waited on me) to make my perfect breakfast. While a broken appointment can be annoying, two sunny-side-up eggs can make an annoyance go away.
