On Saturday, July 28, Waterford resident Teresa Hamilton will be running in Boston in the 9th annual Run to Home Base to support veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.

The event raises money for Home Base, a partnership between the Red Sox Foundation and the Massachusetts General Hospital, to fund research and education and to help veterans and families access clinical care and treatment.

Hamilton, who has worked at Electric Boat for nearly 40 years, is running as part of Team General Dynamics. She will be running in memory of her father, Augustave Labasi, a World War II veteran and lifetime member of VFW Post 189 in New London. Her grandmother also worked in the Brooklyn Navy Yard during the war.

She has raised nearly $10,000 for Home Base by running the last two years and is aiming for another $5,000 this year. To support the campaign, visit runtohomebase.org/2018RuntoHomeBase/Tree.
