Norwich church to host bake sale to support Egyptian refugee

Norwich — St. Mark’s Lutheran Church will host a bake sale fundraiser Saturday, featuring homemade Egyptian desserts, to support a local Egyptian refugee in her effort to remain in the United States.
The church is helping the woman, who asked not to be identified, to raise money for an immigration attorney to help her obtain permanent residency status in the United States. As a Christian woman, she fears persecution in Egypt for her faith.
The bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 248 Broadway, Norwich.
