Groton — Groton Public Schools in partnership with the state Department of Education will host a Troops to Teachers networking event Wednesday evening at Robert E. Fitch Senior High School.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, and is open to all service members and veterans interested in pursuing a teaching career.  

"Educator hiring officials and teacher veterans will share strategies to help service members and veterans increase their marketability for both certified and non-certified positions," a news release announcing the event said. "Presentation topics on preparing for employment will include how to customize cover letters and resumes for education positions and leverage skills and experiences acquired in the military during the hiring process and in the classroom."
