Groton Housing Authority director faces charges in alleged domestic incident

The head of the Groton Housing Authority, who also is the head of the Meriden Housing Authority, is facing two misdemeanor charges related to an alleged domestic incident, according to information from state records and police.

The Record-Journal in Meriden first reported last month that Robert Cappelletti, the executive director, was charged by police in Middlebury with disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call while Kristen Cappelletti, his wife, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, according to the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch website.

The Feb. 16 arrests were referred to a family relations officer and a court date is set for April 8, according to the online records.

Nancy Codeanne, chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Groton Housing Authority, said Monday that she had not been aware of the incident. The board does not plan to take any action.

“This has not affected his performance as our executive director at the Groton Housing Authority, and we have all the faith and confidence in his ability to lead us,” Codeanne said.
