How they roll in New London

New London — Christian Sylvia of New London performs a split on roller skates as he and his friend Ashley Epstein of Ledyard take advantage of the lack of foot traffic Thursday at New London Waterfront Park to work on their skating.

The two best friends said they met about a decade ago, when Epstein was a roller derby competitor and Sylvia a competitive figure roller skater at Galaxy Roller Rink in Groton.

Editor's Note: This version corrects the spelling of Ashley Epstein's name.
