In honor of founding director Richard Virgin, the Regional Multicultural Magnet School has awarded several scholarships each year to high school graduates from the region who attended the elementary school. The $1,000 scholarships can be used toward education expenses related to degree and certification programs.

Honorees include Cassandra Beaumont of Niantic (Grasso Tech), Raina Becker of East Haddam (Connecticut River Academy), Jacob Cannotti of Quaker Hill (Waterford High), Caroline Garrett of Mystic (Fitch), Karyme Hernandez of New London (Grasso Tech), Daniel Lebreque of Waterford (Waterford High), Jacqueline Lopez of New London (Grasso Tech), Rodrigo Mariano of Uncasville (Saint Bernard), Marissa Parker of New London (Science and Technology Magnet), Fabrizio Roberts of Mystic (Fitch), Emme Romanelli of Groton (Fitch), Caroline Anne Sagristano of Old Lyme (Lyme-Old Lyme), Fatima Serrano of New London (Grasso Tech) and Ritu Somayaji of Westborough, Mass.
