    Eagle has landed

    The U.S. Coast Guard barque Eagle is docked Friday, July 26, 2019, at City Pier in New London. Eagle has been home-ported at the Coast Guard yard in Baltimore for the last five years undergoing extensive overhauls to extend the ship's life but has returned to New London as its home port. A welcome home ceremony was held Friday evening at City Pier in New London, attended by U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, D-2nd District; Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz; Coast Guard officials and other dignitaries.     New London — The U.S. Coast Guard barque Eagle is docked Friday at City Pier.

    The tall ship has been home-ported at the Coast Guard yard in Baltimore for the last five years undergoing extensive overhauls to extend the ship's life but has returned to New London as its home port.
