Waterford — Mike Dearborn of Norwich was walking over algae-covered rocks at low tide Saturday, looking for a shell at Harkness Memorial State Park.

He said he wanted the shell to place in his aquarium, and ended up finding a large one. It was a beautiful day to be by the water, he noted.

Indeed, the weather was clear and temperatures were in the mid- to high 40s.
