A wintry mix is expected to hit New London County on Wednesday night and continue through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook warning early Wednesday, predicting a wintry mix of freezing rain and sleet starting about 11 p.m.

The storm is expected to continue through Thursday morning, causing slippery road conditions. The weather service is expecting ice accumulations of less than a half-inch and about an inch of sleet.

The worst part of the storm is expected to hit Putnam and Orange counties, with a Winter Weather Advisory issued for those areas.
