UPDATED: One-car fatal accident on Interstate 395 in Norwich
Norwich — A fatal accident closed down the left lane on Interstate 395 south for much of the night Tuesday.
The single-car accident was reported at 6:08 p.m., state police said. As of about 9:15 p.m., the left lane remained shut down in the area of Exit 11.
Police said the car rolled over and ended up in the median. They declined to say how many people were in the vehicle at the time and were not releasing any names, pending notification of next of kin.
The left lane of the northbound side of I-395 also was closed following the crash, but re-opened about 6:50 p.m.
Police said they anticipated the southbound left lane would re-open about 10:25 p.m.
No further information was immediately available.
