Waterford's Multiple Sclerosis Walk now a virtual event

Waterford — The annual Multiple Sclerosis Walk, scheduled for Sunday, has gone online due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Reardon Law Firm of New London is the local sponsor for the event, and is hoping for another year of fundraising success despite the cancellation of the walk at Harkness Memorial State Park, according to attorney Robert I. Reardon Jr.

To participate in the virtual event, go to the Walk MS: Waterford 2020 website, bit.ly/WaterfordMS2020, or the event's Facebook page.

The Reardon Law Firm has sponsored the MS Walk for several years, raising more than $100,000. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society presented the firm with its Outstanding Community Partner Award at an MS Breakthrough breakfast event on March 1.

"The Reardon Law Firm continues to fight for a world free of multiple sclerosis and is dedicated to finding a cure to the disease," Reardon said in an email.

He said the firm's staff has donated generously, and that office manager Deborah Sheehan and managing partner Kelly Reardon have done a great job heading up the effort.
