New London — Customers were perusing the musical offerings at The Telegraph on Saturday, the first of this year's Record Store Days.

As they did, store owner Rich Martin was keeping track of what he had in stock in case he were to receive a call with a request.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Record Store Day, a worldwide event that celebrates independent music stores, this year is scheduled on three Saturdays — in August, September and October — to facilitate social distancing. The Telegraph, at 19 Golden St., limited the number of customers in the shop at a time, and people were asked to use hand sanitizer and wear a mask.
