Groton — As music wafted over the water, people danced along the beach Thursday evening at Esker Point.

Will Evans was performing at the concert, which was organized by the Town of Groton Parks and Recreation and had a limited number of tickets available with safety and social distancing enforced. "I think I've been playing here for 15 years," Evans said to the crowd, "I wasn't going to let (COVID-19) stop me from coming to this beach."

A local musician, he has spent the last decade as the songwriter and frontman for the rock roots group Barefoot Truth as well as his solo career.
