    Niantic church hosts pandemic-friendly pumpkin carving contest

    The Niantic Community Church hosted its inaugural pumpkin carving contest on Oct. 23, welcoming about 50 community members for an afternoon of live music and creative pumpkin creations.

    Pam Stevens and Neil Passman won in the traditional category, Judy Tomanek won in the sweet category, and Peg Herzberg won “Most Currently Relevant.”
