The tug Patrice McAllister was guiding a barge into New London Harbor on Thursday en route to General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton.
The McAllister Towing and Transportation Co. operates a fleet of 75 vessels from Portland, Maine, to San Juan, Puerto Rico, engaged in ship docking, harbor towing, coastal towing and bulk transportation. According to the Marine Traffic website, the Patrice McAllister's trip originated in Newport News, Va.
The barge, which is used to transport materials between EB and Newport News Shipbuilding, was being returned to Groton for maintenance.
