    Groton school district reports COVID-19 cases

    Groton — Groton school officials said they learned Friday that members of Charles Barnum Elementary School and Fitch High School tested positive for COVID-19.

    Superintendent Susan Austin said in a notification to parents, guardians and staff that there were no contacts in the schools. The people have been told to isolate at home according to public health guidelines.

    School officials also learned Thursday evening that a member of the Mary Morrisson Elementary School community tested positive for COVID-19 and learned Thursday that a member of the Catherine Kolnaski Magnet School community tested positive, she wrote in two other notifications.

    There also were no contacts in each respective school for those cases and the individuals also have been told to isolate at home, she wrote.

    She said school officials are monitoring the situations with Ledge Light Health District.
