Emily Casey named partner at TCORS law firm

Groton resident Emily Casey has been named partner at the New London-based law firm of Tobin, Carberry, O’Malley, Riley, and Selinger.

Casey joined the firm in 2013 where she’s worked primarily on healthcare law. She has represented hospital clients at numerous hearings before the Workers’ Compensation Commission relating to the issue of the correct reimbursement of hospital bills.

“We are excited to have Attorney Casey join us as a partner; it is a well-earned recognition of her contributions to the firm. We look forward to working with her as we continue to build the next generation of TCORS attorneys,” said managing partner Kristin Wainright.

Casey received her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2012. Earlier, she worked as a consultant for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in connection with a criminal investigation conducted by the Southern District of New York of a suspected major stolen antiquities dealer.

From 2004 to 2009, Casey was a contract archaeologist and worked as a crew chief for a cultural resource management firm.

A native of Waterford, Casey currently serves on the Board of Directors for the New London County Historical Society as secretary. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Connecticut and the Avery-Copp House Museum. She is active with the Yale Alumni Association and is a member of the Young Professionals of Eastern Connecticut.

Casey also volunteers for the New London Community Meal Center.
