Mystic — Students in the preschool program at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center planted an eastern white pine tree Friday in honor of Arbor Day.

It was part of the "Project Plant It!" environmental education program funded by Dominion Energy, which teaches students about how trees and pollinators benefit the ecosystem.

Students also received a packet of wildflower seeds in honor of National Wildflower Week, which is May 3-7.
