Norwich — One change has been made thus far in the Republican ticket for Board of Education for the Nov. 2 election.
Yamir Flores, owner of a pest control business, will replace Robert Dempsky as a Republican candidate for school board.
Dempsky, the Republican Town Committee chairman, said he ran for the post to ensure the party had a full slate of candidates. He said after the endorsement caucus last Wednesday, Flores approached him and expressed interest in running for office. Dempsky said he offered to step aside and give his slot to Flores.
