Old Lyme — Maryann and Chris James of East Greenbush, N.Y., and their friend Julia Morin of North Adams, Mass., spent some time crabbing together Tuesday at Ferry Landing State Park.

They were catching and releasing the crabs and Maryann said she doesn't eat crabs, although she is told she makes a good sauce with them. She grew up in Connecticut and she and her husband love visiting the shore and like to stay in the Niantic when they visit.

They also like to explore, since they plan to someday have a home in the Niantic area near the shore.
