Today this is home to Chelsea Groton Bank’s Norwichtown branch, but this spot was occupied by Cities Service gas and auto repair in the 1940s through the 1960s. Back then it was normal to pull up to a pump and have two or three attendents gas your car, check your oil and clean your windshield. It was called “full service.”

Ken Keeley is the author of 12 pictorial books about Norwich history. To purchase any of his books he can be reached via e-mail at kenekjr000@comcast.net.
