    It's apple-picking season in southeastern Connecticut

    Ledyard — The weather was a perfect for fall day Wednesday, and people with school-age children took adavantage of them having a day off from school, in some school districts, to spend time picking apples.

    Several said they later planned to make treats, including apple pie or applesauce.
