Norwich Memories: Shetucket Street

In 1890, the U.S. Post Office was located on Shetucket Street (Courthouse Square today) next to the Shannon Building. Note the cobblestone street which kept the horses from slipping when it was raining. Around 1905 the new post office was built on Main Street, next to the Elks Club.
