Road closures announced for Mystic Halloween Parade
The Groton Town and Stonington police departments have announced that several roads will be temporarily closed Sunday for the Mystic Fire Department and Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce Halloween Parade.
The road closures will occur about 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, and will remain in effect for approximately 45 minutes until the parade ends at the B. F. Hoxie Mystic Fire Department on Broadway Avenue (Route 1), according to a news release.
The following roads will be closed on the Groton side of Mystic:
- Water Street (Route 215) at New London Road
- West Main Street (Route 1) at Water Street, east over the drawbridge
- Pearl Street at West Main Street
- Gravel Street at West Main Street
The following roads will be closed on the Stonington side of Mystic:
- East Main St. (Route 1)
- Cottrell Street southbound.
- Washington Street eastbound
- Washington Street to Broadway Avenue (Route 1) and into the B. F. Hoxie Mystic Fire Department
Both police departments, the Mystic Fire Department and Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce "want to remind everyone that this is a family-oriented parade," the news release states. "We would like to ask for your continued support to ensure we provide a safe, fun environment for all parade participants."
