Unemployed and looking for a job? We want to hear about your experiences

The Day is looking to hear about the experiences of people in southeastern Connecticut who are unemployed and looking for a job. How well do job postings align with what you're looking for, in terms of salary, hours, remote options, COVID policies, and other factors? Are education and experience requirements keeping you from applying to more jobs that interest you? How are you faring with responses and interviews?

If you're interested in sharing, fill out this form or email reporter Erica Moser at e.moser@theday.com.

Connecticut is one of only eight states where there are more unemployed workers than there are job openings, and the state's unemployment rate for September — 6.8%, compared to a national average of 4.8% — is tied for sixth highest in the country. But there are still many businesses across a variety of industries that are struggling to hire.

Workers nationwide quit their jobs a record 4.4 million times in September, with the most quits happening in arts, entertainment and recreation.
