Local natural skincare company Sound Naturals has been added to Big Y Supermarket’s Local Partner Program. The Groton company’s full line is now available in the Mystic, Groton and Old Saybrook Big Y locations.

According to a release, Connecticut native Beth Bogdan started creating natural skincare products for herself, a face cream to help diminish a large dark sunspot on her face and a foot cream for dry cracked heels. Friends and family noticed the products were working and started asking to try them.

Bogdan was looking for a job while continuing to make new products when the pandemic hit. With the job market in decline, she shifted her time from job hunting to formulating new products. Since everyone kept commenting on how dry their hands were from frequent hand sanitizing and washing, she created her nourishing hand creams which keep hands soft and moisturized even after washing. In July 2020 the first line of Sound Naturals products was launched with a vitamin-rich night balm, a moisturizing hand cream, a pampering foot cream, and an uplifting, luxurious body lotion.

Sound Naturals’ name was inspired by the founder’s decades-long music industry career, a lifetime living on the Long Island Sound, and her commitment to using only the purest natural ingredients. Commenting on being an addition to Big Y’s Local Partner Program Bogdan said in a release, “I have such admiration for Big Y which is a local family-owned company. They support small businesses like myself and we are thrilled to be part of their community and have our products in their stores.”
