This view of flooding and damage taken in the aftermath of the 1938 hurricane was taken from Union Square looking down Bath Street to Franklin Street.
On the right is roof damage to some of the buildings. That is an automobile, almost underwater, in the street.
Franklin Square sustained over eight feet of water height from the harbor during the storm.
