    Ledge Light Health District to hold vaccination clinic in New London

    New London — Ledge Light Health District has announced it will hold a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at its office at 216 Broad St.

    "The Moderna vaccine and a very limited supply of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine will be available for anyone 18 years or older who needs a 1st or 2nd dose or is eligible for a booster dose," Ledge Light said in a news release.

    The health district has posted a list of additional clinics, available at bit.ly/llhdvax, including for youths 5 to 17, available through Griffin Health, according to the release. Those clinics will have all three vaccine brands.

    All clinics are free and open to the public, with no appointment, insurance or identification needed, the release stated.

    Ledge Light said the following groups are eligible for a booster shot:

    Individuals who received the Moderna vaccine:

    [naviga:li]Severely immunocompromised at 1 month or more after their initial series.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Everyone age 18 and up at 5 months or more after their initial series.[/naviga:li]

    Individuals who received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine:

    [naviga:li]Everyone age 12 and up at 5 months or more after their initial series.[/naviga:li]

    Individuals who received the J&J vaccine: booster shots are recommended for those who are 18 and older and who were vaccinated two or more months ago.
