State to begin upgrading traffic lights in six area towns
The state Department of Transportation will begin upgrading traffic control signals at six locations in southeastern Connecticut beginning Friday.
The intersections are East Lyme, Route 1 at special service road SSR 432 that leads to Stone's Ranch Military Reservation; Groton, Route 184 at Shewville Road; Ledyard, Route 117 at Colonel Ledyard Highway; Montville, Route 32 at Fort Shantok Road; Old Lyme, Route 1 at Huntley Road and Old Lyme Stores; and Waterford, Route 1 at Clark Lane and Route 1 at Willetts Avenue.
The $4.2 million project involves intersections in 14 towns across the state. The project is scheduled to be completed July 16.
