A tribute to Blues great Little Walter will take place at Norwich Arts Center on Sunday, May 1.

Considered by many to be the greatest harmonica player of all time, Walter’s genius changed the way harmonica was played as he developed his unique style and sound into what became known as Chicago Blues harp. His 1952 harmonica solo “Juke” spent eight weeks at number one on the Billboard R&B chart and still to this day is the only harmonica instrumental to hit number one on Billboard. His life was tragically cut short Feb. 15, 1968. Had Little Walter lived he would be 92 on May 1.

The Norwich Arts Center is bringing together three talented Blues harmonica players: Racky Thomas, Ryan Hartt and Nick David, backed by a trio of musicians on guitar, bass and drums.
