Montville Conservation Commission hosts park clean-up event

Montville — Montville's Conservation Commission invites town residents to grab a pair of work gloves and help clean up Hopemead State Park this weekend.

The event will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Those who attend will get a Montville history lesson from the chair of the Conservation Commission, Paul Chase, who will teach residents about the history of the park and its importance to the town.

For first-time visitors attempting to find the park, follow Route 82 West from the Route 82 and Route 163 junction in Montville. Take your first right onto Church Road and follow to Doyle Road. Travel down Doyle for two-tenths of a mile and take a left onto Cottage Road. After nearly a mile on Cottage Road, the park will be on the left.

There is no parking fee at Hopemead State Park.
